Sir Michael Lyons

Sir Michael is chair of the English Cities Fund. A distinguished public servant and regeneration expert, Sir Michael is a former chair of the BBC Trust (2007-2011) and was chief executive of Birmingham City Council (1994-2001) and a number of other local authorities. He was knighted for services to local government in 2000 and headed the Lyons Housing Commission in 2014. He is currently a strategic adviser on public asset management and regeneration to CBRE and chairman of SQW Ltd.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

A chartered surveyor with over 25 years’ experience in development and development finance, he previously worked for English Partnerships and the London Development Agency. Gareth has supported major development projects including the 2012 Olympic Park, Wembley regeneration and London’s Royal Docks.

A developer with over 30 years’ experience in the field, Matt has been instrumental in helping Muse extend its pipeline beyond 15 years with an end value of c. £2.5bn. Before joining Muse in 1990 as a Senior Development Surveyor, Matt previously held positions at London & Metropolitan and Chestergate Seddon.

David Hoyle

David is the Finance Director of Muse Developments, with a career extending to nearly 30 years in property regeneration. Representing Muse on the boards of a number of development joint ventures, with both public and private sector partners, David brings considerable expertise on the analysis and funding of complex development projects. Before joining Muse in 1987, David was previously at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Bill is Head of Real Assets at Legal & General Investment Management, overseeing the company’s direct investment in property and infrastructure. He previously held senior roles at Deutsche Bank’s real estate fund management business and Schroder Property Investment Management. Bill has also served as President of the British Property Federation and is currently Chair of the Property Industry Alliance (PIA), bringing together the UK’s leading property bodies to give them a stronger collective voice on policy, research and best practice.

Paul is Director of Real Estate Asset Management at Legal & General Investment Management. He joined the business in 1990 as a graduate surveyor, later being promoted to Associate Director in 2006 and joining the Board in 2008. Paul is a Non-Executive Director of Raven Housing Trust and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
