Our history

2001

ECF is created

ECF is created as a partnership between Muse, Homes England and Legal & General to deliver regeneration in ‘Assistant Areas’.

2007

Millbay, Plymouth

Construction starts at Millbay in Plymouth on a major project to rejuvenate the historic docks and deliver hundreds of new homes, shops, public space, new marina and secondary school.

2009

Salford Central

ECF secures outline consent for the largest ever planning application to Salford Council for the 50 acre, £1bn regeneration of Salford Central.

2011

St. Pauls Square, Liverpool

ECF completes of the final phase of St Paul’s Square in Liverpool.

2013

New Bailey, Salford

2013 – The first phase at Salford Central starts on site, as part of the £1bn regeneration of the city’s historic core.

2017

Merchant Gate, Wakefield

Merchant Gate in Wakefield completes, delivering new workspace, bars and restaurants, new homes and £9 million investment in infrastructure and public realm.

2018

Doubling in size

ECF doubles in size from £100m to £200m to enable it to take on new projects.

2020

St Helens, Merseyside

St Helens Council and ECF join forces to progress borough-wide regeneration

2022

Long-term commitment

ECF partners recommit to extend the life of the partnership to 2036

2023

Stockport 8

Stockport MDC selects ECF as partner for £250m Stockport 8 transformation

2023

Bradford City Village

ECF announces collaboration with Bradford Council to look at options for the regeneration of City Village.

2024

Growing ambitions

ECF doubles in size again, from £200m to £400m, continuing their ambition to deliver place-changing regeneration
