A healthier, happier, more connected town centre for St Helens

An authentic town centre for all

The masterplan for the transformation of St Helens town centre is inspired by its heritage, and sporting and cultural assets, and builds on the town’s track record of doing things differently.

This focus on place and innovation will create an authentic town centre for all to use, value and take pride in, making St Helens an ever more attractive place to live, work in, visit, and enjoy.

A focus on Earlestown

The first phases of the project start with Earlestown and include market hall upgrades and the provision of retail opportunities for independent shops and businesses.

The plans also include landscape improvements focused around linking Market Square to Earlestown Rail Station and extending along Bridge Street, making the wider area more connected, attractive and safe to enjoy both day and night.
